Press Release Summary = The theme of Couture Fashion Week\'s runway shows held in New York City in September 2006 was "Creativity and Luxury for Spring 2007.\" The event exceeded expectations delivering 3 days of spectacular fashion shows and parties.
Press Release Body = To enthusiastic audience receptions, participating designers presented parades of garments and accessories as varied as the countries from which they hail. The semi-annual event was bigger and better than ever, featuring both established as well as up-and-coming designers, complemented by spectacular hair styling by New York\'s newest trendy salon Trillium (founded by Dario Arias, Elaine Browne and Federico Lupo), expert makeup styling, beautiful models, fabulous venues, and creative staging. Above all, Couture Fashion Week has become a platform to showcase some of the most creative and trend setting couture designers from around the world. (See photos from the shows).
Another distinctive aspect of Couture Fashion Week is its models who represent a rainbow of races and nationalities including Asian, Latin American, East European, African, African-American, Caribbean as well as an array of blondes, brunettes and redheads.
One of the highlights of this season\'s shows was the variety of beautiful accessories from exquisitely crafted hats and handbags by Australian milliner Miranda Green, to gorgeous jewelry by Diamonds International, GlamNYC and Maja Schulz. The event generates interest among upscale fashion consumers, celebrities and dignitaries. Front row attendees at the third day of fashion shows held at the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria Hotel included wealthy New York socialites, diplomats, business leaders, top fashion press as well as VIP including celebrity supermodel, actress and author Carol Alt.
This season\'s participating designers included J.J. Schoeman from South Africa, Josef Klir from the Czech Republic, Bongi Gray from Swaziland, Gordana Radic from Croatia, Lourdes Libman from the Dominican Republic, Millo Designs from Colombia, Nicole Rae Styer from Philadelphia, Gaynell Benjamin from The Bahamas, and Miranda Green from Australia. A line of chic cocktail dresses designed by event producer Andres Aquino was a perfect vehicle to showcase accessories on the runway.
Winners of a T-Mobile nationwide sweepstakes enjoyed front row seats and an afterparty. The sweepstakes was coordinated by Track Entertainment and has generated nearly one million downloads of the photos of the event from the company\'s website.
Star Music NYC delighted the audience between shows on September 8 at the Waldorf-Astoria, and afterparties were held at Home and Guest House, two of the city's most chic nightspots. Delectable cocktails courtesy of Fernet-Branca and Molinari Sambucca were offered to guests attending the fashion shows at the West Side Loft on September 6 and 7, while those looking for a less potent potable enjoyed \"Twist\", the delicious new fashionable line of flavored waters by Talking Rain Beverages.
Executive Sports Group, a New York-based marketing and promotional company specializing in sports memorabilia, partnered with Couture Fashion Week to invite some 40 special VIP guests associated with major charity events around the country. The guests enjoyed the fashion collections and cocktail parties between shows at Peacock Alley, the elegant lounge in the Waldorf-Astoria.
